On 2 December, Nextrade CEO Kati Suominen organized with the Small Business Administration (SBA) event “Entrepreneurship as a Component of National Power”, featuring SBA Administrator and President Obama’s Cabinet Member Maria Contreras-Sweet, at the Council on Foreign Relations in Washington, DC.

 

Administrator Contreras-Sweet discussed with an exclusive group the many ways in which the SBA opens new opportunities for American small businesses to expand to overseas markets.

 

The SBA commissioned Suominen to author background paper "Activating America's Export Engine" for Administrator Contreras-Sweet on ideas for the SBA to help grow small business exports in the increasingly digital global economy – where digitization and new public-private partnerships can open tremendous opportunities for globalizing companies to access capital, find new customers, take advantage of trade agreements such as the TPP, and fast-track customs procedures.
