In 2026, Nextrade is supporting the East African Community Secretariat and Partner States East African Community to develop a harmonized regional legal framework and instrument on data protection and privacy and a Mechanism for Cross-border Data Flows as a reference for EAC Partner States’ legal framework on personal data transfers.
