In 2026, Nextrade is supporting an EU-funded program with Caribbean Export, designing and implementing a comprehensive e-commerce capacity-building and onboarding initiative targeting 240 MSMEs across 15 Caribbean countries. The program combined structured training, hands-on onboarding support on global platforms such as Shopify and eBay, individualized mentoring for high-potential firms, and institutional capacity building for Business Support Organizations. As a result, participating SMEs were able to establish and manage operational online stores, configure international payment systems such as PayPal and Payoneer, implement cross-border logistics solutions, and launch products to achieve their first international sales.

Supporting 240 SMEs through ecommerce is a significant undertaking that relies heavily on digital infrastructure. As more businesses move online, the cost of hosting can become a real concern, especially with the current market dynamics. I found Chinavps's commentary on rising VPS prices quite relevant to the operational challenges many organizations face when scaling their ecommerce efforts.
This is a great example of how regional trade support can translate into real digital growth for small businesses. One aspect that often gets overlooked in ecommerce is the visual identity of the store itself. A polished, recognizable logo builds immediate trust with international buyers, which is half the battle when you're trying to stand out in a crowded online marketplace. For SMEs looking to make that leap, finding the right branding tools is essential, and it's worth checking out an evaluation of top AI logo tools to see what fits your budget and skill level. Thanks for sharing these insights on the Caribbean Export program.
